Crimson Tide Fleckvieh is predominantly a horned herd using both current and "Old German" horned genetics in their breeding program. For the 2009 breeding season. We are using the most notable and outstanding Smithbilt Molson 21M as the cornerstone sire. For those females who are too closely related to Smithbilt Molson 21M we have divided the breedings between two other outstanding sires. Bar5 SA Banker 833R a smooth, well muscled South African sire and Haxent; a sire of "Old German" breeding who is outstanding in all traits and excels in udder conformation. |

What can we say? A true sire in his own rite. Exceptionally correct, long and smooth, excellent top line, standing on good feet and legs with a tremendous hind quarter. He stamps them Molson every time. Correct feet and legs, nice tight, clean udders and pigment to no end. Oh and don't forget calving ease! For 2009 the average birth weight is 86.12 lbs on a gestation of 283.33 days. With these kind of numbers, Molson can be used without hesitation on heifers. Even with small birth weights, Molson calves display excellent growth and performance. It is extraordinary that with such small birth weights comes the capability of attaining such high weaning and yearling weights.
At the most recent Bull Spectrum Sale in Red Deer AB on Mar 10, 2009 several Molson progeny sold. Seven yearling bulls sold at an average price of $5100.00 and eight yearling heifers sold at an average price of $4500.00 |

Bar 5 SA Banker 833R is an exceptionally smooth and well muscled bull of South African genetics. Banker's grand-sire is Ru-Dev Jim, the "Female Maker" in South Africa. Toverberg Ericka, the most renowned and "fail proof" cow in the Bar5 breeding program, has passed her traits on to Banker. He adds femininity to heifers, and meat and muscle to his bull calves. What a great cross for our Molson females! Banker X Molson calves come unassisted, have good vigor and great weight gains.
Again at Bull Spectrum 2009, several Banker progeny sold, with two yearling bulls averaging $5000.00 and three yearling heifers averaging $4200.00 |

A grandson of the great HAXL, the most famous Simmentaler bull in the world. HAXL is the most important bull of the Fleckvieh breed as far as the improvement of conformation and udders is concerned. The influence of his genes is still very strong and is quite evident in Haxent offspring today. Haxent's pedigree can be traced back to the 19th century where the ancestors came from Bavaria, Baden-Wurttemburg and Austria and appear to be a combination of the very best lines of Fleckvieh.
Haxent's mother Pippi is a daughter of Patent. Haxent was the 15th calf for Pippi, a tremendously well muscled cow. Haxent makes show animals as well as functional animals for the times. He is outstanding in all traits and especially excels in udder conformation. |

For our donor/recipient program we are experimenting with polled genetics on our strong horned donor base. We are doing this in an effort to produce well muscled and functional polled offspring for the industry. We feel a strong horned base is needed to advance the polled gene without compromising type, performance, and functionality. Currently our polled program is largely influenced by two sires: Bar5 PSA Evolution 418S and JNR's Polled Crackerjack 534R. Both outcross genetics to the polled lines available today. |

Crackerjack is a smooth polled, brockle faced heterozygous polled bull whose semen recently sold in Canada for $400.00 per straw. Crackerjack possesses amazing foot structure and overall structural soundness combined with a 66lb birth weight. Out of the REJG Mystic cow. A polled Metro cow going back many generations to the Mutation 1B cow, making this bull very outcross to the polled lines today. |
