The Simmental-Fleckvieh orginates from the Simmen Valley situated in the Berner Oberland in Switzerland. From there the breed spread and established itself in Middle Europe more than 100 years ago and subsequently - all over Europe.

In Europe Simmental-Fleckvieh is bred as a dual purpose beef and dairy breed. Based on the results achieved, the breed has proved its adaptability not only in Europe, but all over the world.

What is Simmental Fleckvieh?
The dual purpose breed for beef and milk, both for pure and crossbreeding.

The colour of Simmental-Fleckvieh ranges from pale yellow to dark yellow and reddish brown. The main colour of the head is white. In crossbreeding, the Simmental-Fleckvieh has proved very successful when crossed with indigenious breeds.

It provides more growth, a larger frame and thus a better beef yield to its cross-bred progeny. It improves the quality of the meat with white fat and excellent marbling. It improves the milk yield, resulting in strong development of the calves in suckler herds.

When crossed with dairy breeds it improves muscling and daily live weight gain.
